In my opinion, for an ad to be good it has to be eye catching, relevant and something that I will remember. Herbel Essences is an ad I often see in magazines that I always remember. It usually just has a girl with long, perfect hair on the page advertising how the shampoo can do just that. These advertisements aren't exactly my favorite. I think they're a bit boring, along with the fact my hair has never turned out like the pictures they show. However, these ads are something I remember. It catches a reader's attention as they flip throgh the magazine with the bright colors. Herbal Essences ads do catch my attention and make me remember them. They're also relevant. This ad obviously would appeal to me more so than an ad for a tool shed from home depot. Hence why most of Herbal ads would be found in Vogue, Seventeen, etc. I give credit to advertisers for doing this and I don't think you can blame them for capitalizing our absence of critique. They just use it to their advantage for selling the product.
