Journal 8

In general I dont really think of my writing style when writing a paper. I think style is something that is unique to the writer, so it varies from person to person. A writer usually has a similiar style from one written work to another, however certain factors can play a role to change it a little bit. The tone of the author can influence the style of writing along with audience. If the writer has a very sincere and serious message, they proabably would shy away from their original style if it contained humor and jokes. Audience definitely determines style. When students write for teachers they write formally and try to be gramatically correct. Not to mention stretch their typical vocabulary. However if a student is simply writing to a friend, style would be completely different. It would be brief, to the point, simple language and probably filled with abbreviations. I think a lot can affect a style, but for the most part style some what stays the same because it is the writer's unique quality.
