I think for an ad to be interesting it has to appeal to the audience on many different levels. The color of it has to be vibrant enough to catch the audiences attention. Also, the ad has to be placed in an appopraite location. It would be stupid and do absolutlely no good for an ad for a new perfume to be places in a magazine about cars. The audience would clearly not be interested in it and it would be a waste of money and space. I like ads that make you look twice and are interesting. Nothing is more boring than simply seeing a bottle of shampoo, for example, and the text is claiming that it is the best shampoo ever. It is boring and I would forget about it within seconds. I think it is also beneficial to have a model or actor or someone of good popular status to also capture the audiences attention although this does has its downfall as some people may have bad associations with said person and therfore then have a bad associations with the product then. In general, it must be hard to figure out to advertise a product to its fullest potential.
