I think that an audience in any medium of writing is very important. It shapes how you write your paper and what sort of writing style you should take when writing it. If the audience is an older crowd, you may want to write in a more sophistacted tone. However, a younger audience allows for you to have more freedom when it comes to how proper it has to be. Each audience may look for something different and base thier views on your paper (whether it is good or bad) on different criteria. That is why it so important to pay attention to who your audience is and how you present your idea to them. The audience in my paper is really directed at the American people. The people that had been there on september 11, 2001 and know how harsh it is. Because i know who my audience is, I can write as if I am talking to them and not aimlessly trying to touch everyone with my ideas.

To me, audience plays a large role inn my writing. I also believe it plays a huge role in all forms of writing, including advertising, books, papers, and music. A music artist won't write the same lyrics when he is targeting a seventeen year old guy as he would for a forty-two year old woman. A company trying to market guns isn't going to use the same advertising strategy as a company promoting woman's cosmetics. It just wouldn't work. All writers need to be aware of the audience so their writing doesn't seem obscure to the wrong people.

The audience plays a huge role in my writing. It sets the tone of my paper and lets me decide how formal or lax I should be. It also lets me know what level of detail and information i need to include. In the media and advertisements, they know how directly appeal to their target audience to get them to watch a show or movie, or go out and buy a product. keeping your audience in mind can help you to understand what they want to hear and make a better impression on them. Knowing what your audience is looking for makes it easier to win them over and achieve whatever goal you are aiming for with your writing. If you keep in mind that a writer is appealing to a specific audience, it can help you become a better reader too. Learning to read something from different perspectives can maximize the meaning and purpose of the writing, and help you to see things that you might have overlooked.

Audience plays a huge role in my writing. The writing that I would turn in to an English teacher is far different than writing to a friend or in a journal. My whole writing style changes all together, whether it is my language, organization, grammar, and even spelling. By knowing the audience I write to, it definitely helps develop my skills as a writer. For example, I had a teacher in 11th grade that was very strict on grading papers and when writing for him, I knew that I needed to be perfect to get an A. One’s reading can also improve because of this audience awareness. For one if the reader knows there are in a specific audience they can read that material and be interested in the subject matter. It will also help them look at what the author is trying to say, and how he or she is trying to reach the reader.
The media is an even better example of how writing changes according to audience. The media targets certain audiences and addresses them in specific ways. In my paper I discussed how Surfing Magazine targets avid surfers and fans to buy an issue. Their advertisements use similar tactics to help the consumer buy certain products.

A key element in a paper is the audience is speaks to. Audience has a heavy influence in the writing style used. If I were writing a paper that I knew was going to be used for say a 5th grader to read, I would obviously want to keep my diction simple so that they are able to understand the paper. Now if I were writing for someone with a high level of education I would be able to use a different vocabulary that was more intense then for a 5th grader. A writer should write the paper with the audience in mind. By doing this they can get a better response from the reader.

I think that audience in writing has a much bigger impact than many people realize. The changes the audience makes to a piece of writing, I think, usually go unnoticed. We've been trained to adapt to the changes and it comes so naturally. For instance, you wouldn't write a paper for a class the same way you would write on your friend's Facebook wall, but the change you make is unintentional. 

In the media, the audience is a major influence in the way something is written or portrayed. The age or lifestyle or background the specific media is speaking toward changes the way that media is presented and displayed in an effort to better relate to that audience.

Audience is key element for readers and writers. Depending on who the audience is affects a lot of the paper. If the writing is targeted towards a younger age group, easier vocabulary and a shorter length might be used. A writer would desribe things in relation to topics kids could relate to. Let's face it, a 6 year old would be more appealed to the character of Tigger than Oprah Winfrey. By knowing this, a writer can use this to their advantage. Understanding the audiences' priorities and activities helps develop the text. People tend to favor things, including text, that they have similarities with. Therefore, when a writer knows what the targeted audience likes, its makes for an easier finish. Knowing the targeted audience can also help the reader. If a reader picks up a book about uprising politicians, they can prepare to read about debatable and analytical information. Contrastingly, if there is a book about the ABC's, a reader can probably open it without having previous knowledge. Audience plays a very important role to both readers and writers. It contributes to the result of the written work.

Audience is a critical part of any effective writing. Knowing the skills and traits of the person you are writing to can help you choose word choice, tone, and overall theme. It also allows you to play on the emotions of your audience. In the case of my essay, I will write in a very formal style and with a serious tone. I am writing critically and I wish to prove a point. Because i'm writing to a proffessor or educational superior, I am not limited at all by word choice. If I were writing to a child about the beatles, I would be inclined to use simpler language and less complicated concepts. If i were writing a children's story, I would employ simple writing tactics such as the use of alliterations and other simple writing techniques to keep a young mind entertained. Audience is a very important part of my writing, and it is very important for this essay.

The role that audiences play in my writing is crucial. It definitely depends on who I am writing for. For instance, to a teacher for an assignment, I would use good mechanics and proper word choices. Another example would be if I were writing to my friends over a text message I would just use the letter u, r, and such forth. The role the media plays in writing is they are trying to persuade someone to buy something just like advertisers. They use captive words and phrases that people won’t forget. Being a better writer will definitely happen if you consider your audience because you will get your point across to them in a better way and it will also help you become a better reader when you can understand where the writer is coming from in his writing.

I think that audiences play a major role in my writing, because you have to approach different people and subjects differently. If you're writing to try to appeal certain people then you have to be sure to write specifically to that particular audience. The same thing goes for media and advertisements. For example, when people are trying to get girls to buy a certain product they would advertise something that girls in particular like so see, perhaps cute boys or something of the sort, that interests them. When you consider your audience, you're more likely to focus on writing to that certain audience, and stay on topic and not wonder off. If I were writing to inform little children on a certain topic, you'll be more than likely to use vocabulary they can understand, not the most difficult words in the dictionary, and pictures to illustrate the words. In "The Role of Audience", he talks about how writing is different from talking to people, and how it changes when you do have to write. Most people when we talk don't use proper English, and the people we're talking to don't correct us, but when you're writing you try to use the correct vocabulary to appeal to your audience.
